I have been involved in health & safety for thirteen years and a member of the IOSH Merseyside Branch for eleven years.
My experience in health & safety has been developed as a trade union representative and in the enforcement of safety legislation within commercial premises as part of Environmental Health Department in a number of Local Authorities. Over the past two years I have been actively involved in developing risk management and safety management systems within the NHS.
I am currently employed as Risk Manager within Liverpool Primary Care Trust where I have responsibility for risk management, safety management including fire, security, estates management and construction based projects.
I develop safe systems of work and provide advice based on Department of Health guidance and legislative requirements to all areas within a diverse organisation; which includes GP practices, Dental services, Optometrists, Pharmacists, Prison Health services, Health Centres, Health Visitors, Radiology, Walk in Centres and Intermediate Care Services.
