I am a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner and have been a member of the IOSH Merseyside branch for three years. I was elected to the executive committee in 2007.
I joined Weightmans LLP in April 2006 having spent the past two years as H&S Manager for CPUK (Nestle). Prior to that I was an Inspector for the HSE advising clients in industry sectors including major hazard installations, heavy engineering, food sector, construction and textiles. Whilst working for the HSE I was seconded for a period of 18 months to the power generation industry where I completed my MSc thesis on behavioural safety and rule violation. I have been involved in several high profile workplace investigations working jointly with the Police, CPS, Fire Authority and Building Control.
As H&S Consultant for Weightmans LLP I work with a team of lawyers who specialise in criminal matters pertaining to H&S law and provide practical advice and assistance to clients on all matters. This includes auditing, risk assessments, inspection, investigation, behavioural safety and developing safety management systems and documentation. I am accredited to deliver a range of IOSH courses and also help present the ‘Case for the Defence’ courses at IOSH HQ in Wigston.
